Jazzercise (Another phase? Or, the lifetime change I need?)

So since the start of 2011 I have stuck to working out 3 times a week at my local ymca. However, I found myself doing the same 40 minute routine each time I went. Therefore, I was getting bored and beginning to find excuses to not hit the gym.

Anyway, last month I saw an add for Jazzercise and really wante to try it, but was scared that I'd be the only beginner and that it would mostly be full of stuck up b****'s. Needless to say, I went to night and I was surprisingly/happily wrong. It was an hour class (which is longer than I have ever done!) and it was fun! The instructor was so welcoming and complimented me before I left. I signed a year membership, so I am hoping I don't get bored and I hope I finally found something I love. I used to dance jazz as a child, so I think it will be exciting to learn new rountines and while losing weight.

Ill keep you updated on my progress... :)

So I have missed one day at the gym...

Today I didn't hit the gym, and although I have been going 3 times a week.... I really would like to go 4 times per week. I have been working out for three weeks and I have only lost a pound. Granted, I am not clean eating... just getting used to the work out regimine first. I am hoping to start eating better/full blown cooking clean after my birthday, Feb. 6th. I feel like that gives me a solid month to get used to my workouts.

How do you stay motivated?

Monday, January 17, 2011

If this doesn't motivate me... I don't know what will.

So today I was at the gym. I was using my favorite elliptical (never thought I'd say that, haha) when a seriously 400 pound man got on the one beside me. I had my resistance at a level 8, and I peeked to see that he kept his on 1. However, he seriously was running so fast on that thing... that the elliptical messaged "warning:do not pedal any faster" What??? I didn't even know this was possible. I usually keep at a steady pace, however today I vowed to stay with this man. He ran for a solid 40mins. I usually only do 30, but hell if he could do it, I could do it.
I didn't tell him this, but he really motivated me. He worked so hard, and it made me want to work hard.

I am going to be an aunt... TOMORROW!

Although I created this journal to tackle my weight loss goal, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to add personal items in here as well. :)
Well tomorrow is the big day for my sister and best friend, she is going to become a first time mommy. YAY! That makes me an aunt. (In case you didn't already figure that out, ha)
They are inducing her in the morning, so I will go to work tomorrow then go down early Wednesday morning. I am taking Wed and Thurs off to be with my little nephew.
How hard is it to take two days off being a teacher? Pretty stressful...
I have to plan every second of the day out for my sub, and add on a list of "could happen" "will happen" scenarios and "what to do...."

So how will I triumph this and still be consistent with my workouts... Here is my plan:

Monday- Day off for MLK day, whoop!! I am going to my first cycling class 4:30-5:50
Tuesday- Work, then hitting the gym for my usual 40 minute routine. Then, going to babysit for some extra cash.
Wednesday- Heading to my hometown. To meet baby _________ (my sister has yet to decide on a name)
Thursday- Hometown (W or Th I will do a 20 minute workout, thank you Jillian Michaels.) She kicks my butt everytime!
Friday- Back to work, no work out. Babysitting again after work.
Saturday- Day off to relax.

Have a great Monday!

That's all for now...

I created this blog because...

Today I went to Shoewoo, a cute little shoe store at Easton Town Center. I found the cutest pair of knee high, high heeled boots. This isn't the first time I found a pair of boots that I loved... but when I went to try them on, the zipper got aboout 3/4 high and would not budge any farther. It was so hard not to tear up...
This is the last straw for me...
I am 22 years old, 5'6'' and should not weigh 182lbs... In four years, I have gained 35 pounds. ew.
Yes, I said it... I admitted it so the entire world can see.
I've been hitting the gym 3 days/week for 3 weeks now... but I am already finding that I am getting bored with my routine.

This is my online journal.. of the struggle to meet my goal this year. My goal is to lose 20lbs to weigh 162lbs. I hope you will blog with me and show me the motivation, courage, and support I need to succeed.
